The International Student Department at TAFE is somewhat unique in the architecture of college in that we have set-up to be devoted to international student welfare. Tafe offers programmes in the areas of Engineering, Management, Business, Accountancy, Languages, and Information Technology.
Our Core Services & Responsibilities:-
- Application of Student Pass and Visa for the new international students
- Renewal of Student Pass and Visa for the existing international students
- Establishing contact with embassies
- Arranging for student permits
- Organising approvals from relevant authorities
- Providing programme counseling support to all student enquiries
- Giving Advice on financial aid resources
- Airport-up pick-up arrangements for the new international students
- Dissemination of important information related to international student matters
Malaysia is known throughout the world for its intoxicating fusion of cultures.
All international students are required to apply for a Student Pass to study in Malaysia. It will usually take around 45 days to obtain approval for a Student Pass. Hence, you are advised to submit your application 2 months prior to the commencement date of each intake.
Upon submission of the completed Application Form with the relevant documents and payment stipulated in the Admission section, Tafe College will proceed to apply for your Student Pass from Malaysia.
LETTER FROM MALAYSIAN IMMIGRATION
Upon approval of the Student Pass, Tafe College will send you an approval letter from the Malaysian Immigration Department. For immigration clearance, you will need to produce this approval letter upon arrival at the airport.
AIRPORT RECEPTION SERVICE
TAFE provides airport reception and pick-up service for our new international students. The International Office will arrange for a staff representative to meet the students at the airport and transfer them to the campus accommodation. Prior notification of flight details is essential.
Students are advise to notify the International Student Department at Tafe College of your arrival at least 3 days before your departure date. The following information is required:
- Date of arrival
- Time of arrival
- Flight number
- Email us the flight itinerary
You are advised to produce the letter of approval from the Malaysian Immigration Department at the immigrations checkpoint. An officer from the college will receive you at the airport’s immigrations clearance point. Please look out for the officer who will be displaying a Tafe College identification card. The officer will assist you in immigration clearance. Please take note that you will not be able to clear immigration without the presence of an officer from the college.
TRANSFER TO ACCOMMODATION UNIT
You will then be transported to the college’s accommodation unit. This airport pick-up service is provided by Tafe College
|All International Students should read the requirements for enrollment carefully and ensure all information is complete before submission. Complete the International student application form and attach all necessary documents. To avoid delays, please ensure that all information is complete, with the following documents attached:|
|A completed Health Examination Form (Pre-Medical)|
|Certified True copies of relevant certificate (Educational Qualifications)|
|Three sets of passport photocopies (all pages in A4 size). The passport should be valid for the student's entire stay in Malaysia.|
|10 passport sized color (blue background (4x5.5cm)).|
|A Bank draft of USD 1600 for the application fee, non-refundable, made payable to Tafe College.|
|Certified True copies of Birth Certificate.|
